Teambuilding that lets you blow stuff up

We can rocket your team’s performance to new heights with this innovative Programme. Here the elements of successful flight are brought down to earth as teams grapple with design, thrust, altitude, attitude (yes, this is an aeronautical term) and all the small details that produce big variations or results.

Model Rocketry has taken the world by storm in the same way that working model aircraft did in the ‘80s. These safe model rockets, which are built by delegates themselves now form the foundation for a memorable team development event.

In Part 1 teams build and race air powered Drag Racers. There are various choices that the team will have to make such as size of the car, size of the “engine”, wheelbase, operating pressure etc.

Part 2 involves designing and building a rocket. Once completed we launch the re-usable rockets to a height of 250m. Of course teams get to keep their rocket – if the parachute was packed correctly and the rocket doesn’t perish in the fall. Specifically we’ll look at Communication, Innovation, Trust, following directions, and Getting it right 1st Time.

Depending on the number of people and the number of launches, Rocket Science takes between 3 to 4 hours, but our timing and content is flexible to allow the activities to fit into your programme.
