A - The reason for communicating with other people is two-fold. Firstly to share information, and secondly to impel the people you are communicating with to action. You want others to be convinced of your point of view and your course of action. All recipients of communication, be it written, oral or electronic, will filter whatever they receive according to their frame of reference and their view of the world. Some people hate detail, while others thrive on it. If you thrive on detail, while the person you communicate with gets bored quickly, or likes to make quick decisions, the effect of your message will be greatly reduced.
It is for this reason that inter-personal skills are essential. We must recognise that people are different, are motivated by different things, and make decisions in different ways. By meeting them at their comfort level, and providing what they require from communication, we make it easier to communicate.
