The Business of People - Employee Effectiveness Training.

Research into the future of work and the way business will be conducted in the near future points to the fact that we are fast moving away from an economy driven by knowledge and information to a business world driven by relationships and experiences. In fact, over the last 40 years we have rapidly evolved from a Commodity Economy, through economies driven by financial achievement and Knowledge acquisition.

Today the business world is driven by an Experience Economy. Employees are no longer motivated by money, big houses and fast cars. Today they will have 14 jobs before they’re 35! They are motivated by freedom, flexibility, and meaningful experiences. Both at work and at play!

I have a people development coaching concept for you which will deliver on several objectives:

  • It will save you considerable money and you will have a predictable, fixed monthly investment
  • commitment
  • It will optimise the individuality and custom-crafting of the coaching a staffer receives
  • It will be modularized in such a way as to minimise disruption of productivity at your company
  • It will be graduated in subtlety and sophistication to provide a progressive, sustainable learning curve
  • It will take place - regularly - on your premises
Here’s the concept illustrated:
  • Strategic Execution Ability

  • Creative Thinking Processes

  • Exceptional Customer Service

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Team Integration Skills

  • Inter-Personal Communication Skills

  • Self Mastery and Personal Leadership Skills

Individuals would start with the skills at the lower end of this hierarchy and progress or jump to those further up the continuum, in the process acquiring 360 degree critical and complementary-to-business skills.

Questions

How will we know who needs what?

I will with your approval, custom-craft and conduct a qualitative and quantative, individually identifiable needs analysis. This can be compared against and correlated with HR or the individual’s line-report perceptions on development needs. It will also be used as the benchmark for pegging ‘where is the person now?’ and measuring their future progress. A ‘menu’ of development areas will be maintained for each person.

Who would benefit in particular?

As the democratisation of the South African workplace accelerates, we’re becoming ever more aware of lacks on the social sophistication, personal mastery, leadership, team integration and business etiquette or writing and communication fronts among keen, but often as yet un-mentored young business people. There’s no use pretending it doesn’t exist. It’s a reality and something we need urgently to address in their interest and that of corporate image. This Coaching Clinic process can fast track their development into a state of comfortable, skilled and assured business communication, personal mastery and a sense of integration amongst all divisions and employees.

Will we be able to evaluate or measure outcomes, growth and progress?

Emphatically! I would submit an e-mailed report on each growth area worked through and we’d again look for ‘fit’ between this and the line report’s view of progress made in the specific arena.

How often would this coaching take place?

I would like to be at your company for three pre-scheduled full days per month. One day in each of the first three weeks of each month. Coaching (other than where driven by crisis or other needs) would ideally take place during these times.

Would the coaching be in groups or one-to-one?

Both - people with similar needs and available time could pre-schedule a coaching module on that topic, or an individual can pre-book a maximum one hour slot on any one day to address a specific need.

Conclusion

This is a powerful way for your company to strategically to invest in training and people development. Because the coaching is not off-the-shelf, but custom-crafted to fit your unique ethos and corporate objectives, it becomes a competitive and market advantage.

I hope you’re as excited about the concept as I am and that we’ll get together to add even further value to your talented team of people.
