New Programme
“The biggest influence on the 21 st century will not be new technology,
but the number of choices that face us and the decisions we make.”

In January 2005 the Sunday Times reported that, “We are moving into an economy in which relationships will be more important than transactions.” (Business Times, 23 Jan 2005).

However, the majority of business (and other) formal qualifications still overlook soft skills in favour of technical skills and academic knowledge. This has resulted in both new and more experienced employees lacking the necessary skills and training in dealing with people and in building relationships. The lack of these skills has forced many employers to embark on induction programmes – only to find that these cover little more than company policies and procedures.

The JumpSTART programme aims to equip both new and current employees with the soft skills to make a real difference in their job, and to add immediate value to their employers.
